Las Dalias Market
The Las Dalias Hippy Market is one of the most popular on the island, with thousands of people flocking to it, especially between the 1st of May and the 31st of October. It sells Adlib clothing, costume jewellery, sandalwood, exotic musical instruments, ethnic music CDs, jewellery, decorative fabrics, statuettes, Indian antiques, sarongs, books and much more. The market also has a restaurant and other places where you can enjoy fresh juices or Arabic pastries.
The Sala de las Dalias, which has been the scene of legendary concerts, continues to be the meeting point for artists from all over the island and on Friday evenings during the summer months, painters and sculptors exhibit their works to the public in an open-air space. The indoor market area is also open to the public at Christmas, with furniture, gifts, crafts and fashion.
How to get there? Taxis stop at the market. There is also a bus line from Santa Eulària to Sant Carles, but there are few buses throughout the day, and they are usually very full. Tour operators and even many hotels offer trips to the market. The most common way to get there is by private car. There are three parking areas for visitors. Two of them are on private land and there is a charge for parking, while behind Las Dalias there is another area which is free of charge.
In the village of Sant Carles, although the banks are closed on Saturdays, you will find cash dispensers; there are also many cash dispensers in Santa Eulària.
